Pella Custom Windows & Doors in Davie: What to Know First

We provide independent Pella custom windows and doors service in Davie - repairs, glass replacement, hardware, weatherproofing, and full custom window and door projects on existing Pella products. Most Pella service calls in Davie are completed in one visit, and custom work is quoted in writing before any glass is ordered. We are not the cheapest bid in Davie, and we do not pretend to be - we are the company homeowners call when the first attempt did not hold up, and they want it done right before the next hurricane season.

Call (863) 208-5172

This page is for Davie homeowners who already own Pella windows or doors and need honest answers about what is wrong, what it will cost, and whether it is worth fixing. If that is you, call (863) 208-5172. A live person answers, day or night.

How Pella Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

Pella builds a solid product, but South Florida is a hard place for any window or door. Here is what we actually see in Davie homes, series by series.

  • Pella Architect Series wood windows: sash corner joint separation. The Architect Series uses wood sashes with aluminum cladding on the exterior. After enough Davie summers, the wood behind the cladding swells and shrinks so many times that the corner joinery begins to separate. You will see a hairline gap at the lower sash corner first, then the window starts to rack when you open it. We remove the sash, re-square it, reinforce the joint, and re-seal the cladding before rehanging it. Silicone alone will not do it - the joint has to be mechanically fastened.
  • Pella ProLine aluminum-clad wood windows: seal failure on the insulating glass unit. ProLine is the line we see most often in Davie homes built in the 1990s and early 2000s. The glass unit is sealed with a flexible spacer that degrades in Florida humidity. Once the seal lets go, you get permanent fogging between the panes that cleaning cannot touch. The glass unit is replaceable - it does not require a whole new window. We source dual-seal replacement units with the correct spacer and gas fill, and the finished window looks and performs like the day it was set.
  • Pella Designer Series: blinds-between-the-glass cord failure. This is a Pella-specific problem worth knowing about. The Designer Series puts the blind inside the sealed glass unit. When the lift cord or tilt mechanism breaks, the blind is stuck wherever it sits, and the glass unit must be opened to fix it. We have done enough of these to know which mechanisms fail and which replacement parts are worth using. In most Davie cases we order the blind assembly through Pella directly and rebuild the unit in place. Aftermarket cords are cheaper and we will tell you that before you ask - but they fail in two to three years of Florida sun, and we will only put one in if you decide that is the route you want.
  • Pella Impervia fiberglass doors: warping and paint adhesion issues on west-facing exposures. Davie gets hard afternoon sun, and a dark-colored Impervia door on a west wall can get hot enough to soften the paint finish. The fiberglass itself holds its shape well, but the factory finish on older units fades and chalks. We strip, prep, and refinish with a coating system rated for Florida heat. It is not the same paint Pella used, but it outlasts it here.
  • Pella sliding patio doors: roller and track wear from sand. Davie sits on sandy ground, and that sand works its way into sliding door tracks. The original rollers grind down, the door drags, and eventually the bottom rail rides on the track. We replace rollers with sealed bearing units, clean and re-align the track, and adjust the door so it rolls without pressure. The work is done with OEM Pella parts unless the door is discontinued, in which case we use a machined equivalent that matches the original spec.

Our Pella Custom Windows & Doors Process

Every Pella job follows the same path, and none of it is mysterious.

  1. 1
Call and describe what you are seeing. A live person answers the phone at (863) 208-5172. We ask enough questions to know whether a service visit is warranted.
  2. 2
On-site inspection and diagnosis. We measure every opening twice and photograph what we find. If a window is racked, we find out why before we touch it. If it is a seal failure, we confirm the glass unit is the problem, not the frame.
  3. 3
Parts decision. We show you the options on paper - OEM Pella parts where they are the right choice, quality aftermarket where they genuinely outperform. We do not put anything in your wall that we would not put in our own.
  4. 4
The work. A uniformed, background-checked technician does the repair or custom window or door replacement. The opening is prepped, set, sealed, and tested before we call it done.
  5. 5
Guarantee. We register both manufacturer warranty layers in writing, state the durations, and cover the workmanship for 90 days under the Done Right Promise. If it is not right, we make it right. No paperwork fights.

What Pella Custom Windows & Doors Costs in Davie

Pella work in Davie runs a wide range because the jobs range from a single latch to a full custom window and door package. Here are honest ranges for what we typically see.

  • Fogged glass unit replacement on a ProLine window: $145 to $385, depending on glass size and whether the sash needs reconditioning.
  • Sash corner repair on an Architect Series window: $225 to $560, including removal, re-squaring, re-sealing, and reinstallation.
  • Sliding patio door roller and track rebuild: $180 to $420, with Pella OEM rollers where available.
  • Designer Series blind mechanism rebuild inside the glass unit: $320 to $680, depending on window size and mechanism type.
  • Full custom Pella window replacement (per opening): $950 to $2,800, driven by frame material, glass package, and impact rating. Davie code requirements for impact protection add cost, but skipping them is not a corner we will cut.
  • Full custom Pella door replacement: $1,800 to $5,500, depending on size, swing, and hurricane rating.

What moves the price: glass package (impact-rated costs more), frame material, window size, condition of the existing frame, and how far we have to bring an opening back to true. You will get a written, line-item quote. The number you approve is the number you pay - no surprise line items, no change orders unless you ask us to expand the scope.

Why Davie Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for Pella Work

We have been serving Davie and the surrounding Broward County communities since 2008, rooted in a craft tradition that started with Dale Kessler’s father and carries on today. Dale learned glazing at McFatter Technical College right here in Davie, and he has been setting and sealing windows in Broward County for going on twenty-six years. When a prior install fails its first serious storm, he is the one neighbors call.

We carry Pella knowledge that most contractors in Davie never take the time to learn. We also service and install Andersen, PGT, and CGI, which means we can give you an honest side-by-side when a Pella part is on backorder or a full replacement is worth considering. We do not steer you toward one brand because we carry it - we tell you what the product facts say. If the pane is not true, the job is not done. That rule is the company.

And we stand behind all of it: the Done Right Promise, both warranty layers registered in writing before the truck leaves your driveway, and a live person answering the phone 24/7. Pella does not endorse any of these installation practices, and we are an independent Pella service provider. But Davie homeowners keep our number for the same reason they keep a good mechanic’s: because when something goes wrong, we answer and we fix it.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★

"Quote was the price, which after three other bids that grew legs was worth something. Double-hungs went in clean, they hauled the old ones, and the registration paperwork for the warranty came in the mail like they said."

DDorothy K.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★

"Had fog between the panes in four windows. They explained the seals had failed and argon was long gone, replaced the glass units instead of selling me whole windows. Honest outfit."
